Myelodysplastic Syndromes Directory

Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS, formerly known as preleukemia) are a collection of blood-related medical conditions that cause ineffective production of the myeloid class of blood cells. Patients with this class of blood disorders are often severely anemic and will require frequent blood transfusions. The myelodysplastic syndromes are caused by disorders of bone marrow stem cells.
