Other diseases with symptoms that are similar to the common symptoms of giardiasis include:
- Bacterial infections with Salmonella, E. coli, Campylobacter, Staphylococcus, or Shigella. Symptoms of infection with these organisms generally do not last as long as those caused by Giardia lamblia.
