What is a bioidentical hormone?

Laura Corio, MD
A bioidentical hormone is a hormone that is exactly the same as the hormones that you made when you were a menstruating woman, so estradiol, estriol, are bioidentical hormones that you were making while you were menstruating and progesterone, and testosterone all hormones that you were making. I don't believe in synthetics. I'm not big on the synthetics because of the side effects.
