WebMD's Health Professionals and Invited Guests

How do you create a content organization that can fulfill the promise of health on the Internet? You provide credible information, community, and services. With this purpose in mind, WebMDHealth has contracted with over 30 Health Professionals and Invited Guests in an effort to share personalized medical information in our interactive areas with you, our users.

Our desire is to provide access to Health Professionals with a positive "cyber-bedside manner" and a genuine respect for the health care consumer who empowers her/himself with information. Each message board Health Professional and Invited Guest is a professional working within her/his field of expertise, and is typically referred to us by an existing WebMDHealth reference. We require health experts to possess the education, accreditation, and/or licensure appropriate in their field to staff message boards. If a health expert has a particular license or accreditation, we disclose that information in their personal bio and we take reasonable steps to verify that such license or accreditation is valid and current.

Our Health Professionals and Invited Guests provide information only -- they are not permitted to advise, diagnose, provide crisis intervention, or otherwise treat users of this site. As well, they are not able to refer users to specific health care providers, nor are they permitted to communicate with users of this site via e-mail correspondence or any other form of communication outside the message boards without the written consent of WebMDHealth management. Please note that due to time constraints, our Health Professionals and Invited Guests may not be able to respond to each message board posting.

Neither the content nor any other service offered by or through WebMD is intended to be for medical diagnosis or treatment.
