Other Conditions With Symptoms Similar to Sinusitis

Facial pain and pressure seen in sinusitis could be caused by many other conditions. Other possible causes of these types of symptoms include:

Colds that affect the nose (upper respiratory infections).
Allergies.
Noncancerous (benign) growths in the nose (nasal polyps).
Tension, cluster, migraine, or other types of headaches.
Tooth grinding or temporomandibular (TM) disorder.
Toothache.
Cancer in the nasal cavity or sinus (rare).
A sudden, stabbing pain in the face that occurs at irregular intervals (trigeminal neuralgia or tic douloureux).
