Stretch marks can be the result of pregnancy, weight gain, weight loss, or even genetics. The pesky lines start out red, purple, or brown but eventually settle in as light or white streaks. There is no treatment for stretch marks that can be considered very effective, although dermabrasion, chemical peels, laser surgery, or creams may help.
