Biography
Brad Bowman, MD
Brad Bowman, MD, is vice president of healthcare innovation for WebMD Health, where he is responsible for developing new technologies that make the use of medications and medical devices safer and more effective. An internist by training, Bowman has sought to apply computer simulation techniques and electronic forms of communication to assist patients and physicians in making better health decisions.
Prior to joining WebMD, Bowman practiced internal medicine and founded WellMed (now part of WebMD Health), where he led the development of HealthQuotient® and other advanced online risk stratification tools that provide real-time modeling of individual and population health intervention strategies. He was also appointed by the governor of Oregon to serve as commissioner for Oregon's evidence-based Practitioner-Managed Prescription Drug Plan.
Bowman received his medical training at the University of Washington and board certification in internal medicine. He is an assistant professor of medicine and clinical informatics at Oregon Health Sciences University and formerly served as chairman of the division of internal medicine for Legacy Portland Hospitals.
