Uterine Sarcoma Treatment (PDQ®): Treatment - Health Professional Information [NCI] - Recurrent Uterine Sarcoma
For patients with carcinosarcomas who have localized recurrence to the pelvis confirmed by computed tomographic scanning, radiation therapy may be effective palliation. Phase I and II clinical trials are appropriate for patients who recur with distant metastasis and are unresponsive to first-line phase II trials. High-dose progesterone hormone therapy may be of some benefit to patients with low-grade stromal sarcoma.
Current Clinical Trials
Check for U.S. clinical trials from NCI's list of cancer clinical trials that are now accepting patients with recurrent uterine sarcoma. The list of clinical trials can be further narrowed by location, drug, intervention, and other criteria.
