Staging of Medulloblastoma
Evidence suggests that medulloblastomas originate from two different germinal zones within the cerebellum. The ventricular zone gives rise to the more common classic midline medulloblastomas, whereas granule neuron precursor cells of the external granule layer are believed to give rise to the lateral cerebellar hemispheric desmoplastic medulloblastomas. The tumors may spread contiguously to the cerebellar peduncle, along the floor of the fourth ventricle, into...
Lesions can be treated successfully by radiation therapy alone with preservation of normal voice.
Surgery is reserved for failure of radiation therapy or for patients who cannot be easily assessed for radiation therapy.
Current Clinical Trials
Check for U.S. clinical trials from NCI's list of cancer clinical trials that are now accepting patients with stage I laryngeal cancer. The list of clinical trials can be further narrowed by location, drug, intervention, and other criteria.
