Physical Exam for Temper Tantrums

During a physical exam for temper tantrums, the doctor looks for signs of health problems that can contribute to a child's problem behavior. These can include hearing problems, allergies, or recurrent ear infections. A child who is frustrated, tired, doesn't feel well, or is uncomfortable is often more prone to having temper tantrums.

The doctor will also assess your child's developmental and physical growth. This information can help your doctor identify any possible developmental delays that may in part cause temper tantrums. Further testing may be recommended by behavioral or developmental specialists.
