Editorial Director Colleen Paretty edits and manages WebMD Magazine, our print and tablet publication. Published eight times a year (January/February, March/April, May, June, July/August, September, October, November/December), the magazine reaches more than 8 million readers an issue in doctors' office waiting rooms nationwide, and the magazine app is consistently the No. 1 downloaded health/fitness title on the iPad. Paretty also directs the editorial creation and production of WebMD Diabetes and WebMD Campus magazines, manages the Spanish translation of select magazine content for various WebMD Magazine projects, and oversees the annual WebMD Health Heroes initiative.
Paretty’s background as a consumer health journalist includes positions at numerous health media publishers, health care organizations, and universities, including Time Inc. Health, Health magazine, PlanetRx.com, LifeHeart.com, MyLifePath.com, BabyCenter.com, Consumer Health Interactive, Penguin Putnam, Chronicle Books, and the University of California, San Francisco. She has also written, edited, and managed content projects for several national and regional publishers, including Forbes ASAP, Business 2.0, Mother Jones, Sunset Publishing, Age Wave Communications, San Francisco Focus magazine, and San Francisco Magazine. She has a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
