Communicating With Your Doctor

A trusting and open relationship with your doctor is critical to your health, and communication -- the transmission of ideas, attitudes, or beliefs between individuals -- is a core component of this relationship. In the case of the patient-doctor relationship, effective communication requires that both patient and doctor exchange ideas in order to solve medical problems and promote the patient's health.
