Why the Zimmer® Gender Solutions™ Knee Fits Female Anatomy Better

The Zimmer Gender Solutions Knee is the first and only implant specifically shaped to fit the unique contour and size typical of women's knees. Compared to traditional knee replacements, it accommodates the anatomical shape and size differences between women and men in three distinct ways:

  • Thinner Profile – A thinner profile in the front, which feels more natural instead of bulky
  • More Natural Movement – A different angle between the hip and knee, which allows the implant to move more like a woman's natural knee
  • Contoured Shape – Contoured shape to fit the narrower anatomy of female knees more precisely and prevent the implant from overhanging the bone

Research has shown that implants with these differences allow for improved implant fit, fewer intraoperative adjustments, greater comfort and more natural movement. The Zimmer Gender Knee is designed to accommodate a wide range of motion and can be implanted using existing surgical techniques.
