Today's Daily Dose
Home Remedies for Motion Sickness
WebMD's Barry Wolcott, MD Your daily dose of health information selected by WebMD physician editors.
Motion sickness got you worried sick about your next vacation? Over-the-counter drugs or wristbands may help some people get over motion sickness, but there are other home remedies and precautions that are also worth a try:
  • Don’t travel on an empty stomach. Take along snacks to eat every couple of hours.
  • Avoid fatty, greasy meals during travel, which may prompt nausea.
  • Try a high-protein liquid drink rather than a high-carbohydrate one to reduce nausea.
  • If you are traveling by car, try to be the driver or sit in the front seat.
  • A dose of ginger can also calm uneasy stomachs.
