Today's Daily Dose
Cut the Coffee Calories
WebMD's Charlotte Grayson, MD Your daily dose of health information selected by WebMD physician editors.
Stop! That cup of java you're enjoying right now might be derailing your diet. Tempting as it is, upgrading your black coffee to a large café mocha or a Frappuccino could easily add an extra 500 calories or more.

But there are ways to enjoy a tasty coffee treat without ruining your diet.

  • Ask for your beverage to be made "skinny." (That's with non-fat or skim milk.)
  • Skip the whipped cream on top.
  • Order the smallest size.

Or you can make your own iced coffee beverage by blending coffee, ice, skim milk, cocoa powder or cinnamon, and a packet or two of sugar-free sweetener.
