Are Temper Tantrums a Sign of Later Trouble?

You've heard of the terrible twos, but some outbursts start much earlier.

WebMD Answers to Questions

Question:

My 7-month-old is already having temper tantrums several times a day. My husband and I are extremely worried that this could be an early sign of emotional problems. Could this be the case?

Answer:

It may be an early sign that he is going to be a temperamentally intense guy, but it is by no means a worry for later emotional problems. The fact he is doing it earlier than most only means he's developmentally advanced -- an intense temperamental genius in the making!

Or not. Sometimes the most intense babies morph into the most laid-back toddlers. You never know!

Good luck.
