Today's Daily Dose
Brain Foods
WebMD's Charlotte Grayson, MD Your daily dose of health information selected by WebMD physician editors.

Find your mind wandering in the middle of the day? Or lose a thought in the middle of conversation?

It might be time to refuel your brain. Just like other parts of your body, your brain needs energy in order to function at peak levels. The brain can't store energy, so it needs a continuous source of fuel from a healthy diet.

Some foods, such as blueberries, strawberries, prunes, and fatty fish have been shown to be particularly effective in boosting short-term memory.

Get more of these foods in your diet by mixing fruit in cereal, yogurt, or pancake batter and eating fatty fish two times a week.
