A Glorious Task

I bought my dream of country land and started a refuge for elderly and disabled dogs.

It is honestly my one great joy to be able to give these wonderful trusting creatures the love and attention they need, since they give me so much love.

They notice when I'm not doing well, and they'll give me hugs, and even make efforts to reduce their particular contribution to the overall "familial" need of the whole group! It's humbling to witness their innate charity! I know every one of them would do whatever it took to save my life if they could, including give up their own.

What a life to wake up to every morning! How could I ever feel anything but gratitude to have such a glorious task to get me out of bed every day?!
