Indie Cooper-Guzman, RN, CPP

Indie Cooper-Guzman, RN, CPP, began her career in nursing more than 20 years ago. She has practiced as a holistic nurse, dedicating more than 10 years serving the elderly. Cooper-Guzman promotes noninvasive alternatives for symptom management and wellness. Her interest in the study of pain and pain management grew out of her intense interest in the practice of nursing and holistic care.

Cooper-Guzman, a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing, received her bachelor's degree in Community and Human Services from the State University of New York, Empire State College. She double-majored in psychology and counseling. She graduated from the University of the Pacific following the successful completion of a post-graduate Comprehensive Pain Management Program. Cooper-Guzman is currently completing her Master of Education degree through Jones International University.

Cooper-Guzman is board certified in pain management through the American Academy of Pain Management. One of her goals as a clinical nurse consultant and educator is to see more emphasis placed on the promotion of pain education for both practitioners and patients. She is a charter member of the American Society of Pain Educators and is involved in the development of a national pain educators credentialing program.
