Ask Dr. P: My Son Says He's a Girl!
"My 3-year-old has never been a roughhousing type of boy. He has always been very sensitive and affectionate. He never plays with boys if there are girls to play with and always has played with his sister. All my friends have girls. Now he is constantly saying he is a girl, wants to wear dresses or his sister's clothes, and would rather play with Barbie dolls than cars with his brother. I just want to know if this is normal, and why does he do this? Should I get him some type of help? Please help me!"
