The Biggest Loser Simple Swaps: What It Is

Losing weight without feeling deprived, just by making some simple lifestyle changes? If that sounds good to you, The Biggest Loser Simple Swaps: 100 Easy Changes to Start Living a Healthier Lifestyle will give you diet news you can use every day.

The book suggests 100 "simple swaps" to help you upgrade your fitness level, food choices, meal planning, and cooking methods.  These inexpensive and quick changes can add up to weight loss that is so simple, you'll never go back to your old ways.

Author Cheryl Forberg, RD, dietitian for NBC's The Biggest Loser show, says the secret to successful weight loss is not feeling deprived.

"The Biggest Loser Simple Swaps teaches you how to satisfy those cravings and provides tools so you can still eat your favorites without going overboard," she says.

But while you may be inspired by the dramatic weight loss of contestants on the show, don’t expect to achieve the same results with The Biggest Loser Simple Swaps

"This book was written to inspire people at home who don’t have the luxury of the Biggest Loser ranch, personal trainers or working out for hours each day under the guidance of a team of professionals," Forberg says.

The book makes weight loss promises, but Forberg says you can lose 1-3 pounds per week, depending on how motivated you are to exercise.

"The Biggest Loser Simple Swaps is not as accelerated as the show," says Forberg. "It is designed to promote slow, healthy weight loss much like the contestants follow once they are sent home."

Plenty of practical information plus 30 low-calorie recipes (see two examples below) will help you expand your culinary horizons, get in touch with your hunger, learn more about your eating habits, and get started on your way to a healthier, leaner lifestyle.
