This Is Why You're Fat: Review

This Is Why You’re Fat: Food for Thought

The best part of this book is its detailed fitness advice. The well-designed exercise plans can help you get real results from your workouts.

The basic diet can also serve as a template for healthier eating. The book's menus, meal plans, and recipes are easy to follow and can help you make better food choices. But forget the claims about hormones, body chemistry, detoxification, and more, which oversimplify the science. And add some low-fat dairy products to meet calcium and vitamin D requirements.

Controlled cheating is a concept that can help dieters avoid feeling deprived. But be careful not to go overboard: A few out-of-control weekend meals can undo your calorie savings during the week.
