After losing 80-pounds through weight loss surgery, 50-year-old Mary Luciana (LUCY-ANNA)became more body conscious. She had a tummy tuck to get rid of excess belly skin but wasn't completely satisfied.
After having this big body change as it was, I wanted to try to look as good as I could.
She saw doctor Steve Fallek (FAL-ek) about a droopy area below her tummy tuck. Doctor Fallek says it's a spot that often sags and bulges and becomes more noticeable with weight loss or aging.
Most patients do complain about it, most doctors don't do much about it.
So Doctor Fallek tried a new technique. He removed fat from the area with liposuction. Then lifted and smooth the bouch. Where are tummy tuck pushes the tissue down, in this area the surgeon pulls it up. Scars are hidden in the bikini line and patients go home the same day.
The procedure itself takes about an hour an hour and a half. Very minimal bruising, uh recovery time is literally one or two days. Patients can be back to work the next day.
Now Mary's more comfortable and confident.
There was a bulge there that just just didn't look right and now it's nice and flat. It looks, looks normal again.
It makes her weight loss all the more worth it. For WebMD, I'm Sandee LaMotte.
