Can't figure out why I have better balance in the left leg.
As a professional beach volleyball player, Daniel Gilbert relies on his trainer to help keep up his strength and endurance.
Typing on laptop.
He also relies on the web to help him track his daily diet.
I started using it in order to track my food, to track my calories that I was eating. I honestly had no idea the balance of what I was eating, you know, fats versus carbs versus protein.
Daniel's onto something. New research proves logging in will help maintain his weight loss. Doctor Alan Peterson was one of the principle investigators in a web-based weight loss study.
We found that indeed, the Internet treatment resulted in preventing the weight gain. People on the Internet group lost about three pounds, which is not a lot. The group in usual care gained what we were expecting, about a pound and a half.
Every week for six months, researchers reviewed food intake, exercise and weight changes. Not surprisingly, those study participants who tracked the most, saw the greatest success.
That I think was one thing that I heard from the most people. I like this because I was accountable. I felt like you know I remembered I needed to do my entries every week and it made me more aware of things that I was doing on a daily basis.
Let's see how you did on this day.
For Daniel, weights and the web have proven to be a winning combination. He's lost 30 pounds in about seven months. For WebMD, I'm Damon Meharg.
