Absolute Contraindication: ONE REPORT OF METABOLIC ACIDOSIS;RISK OF REYE'S SYND W/VIRAL ILLNESS/FEVER

Precaution: INSUFFICIENT DATA AVAILABLE; MOLECULAR WT LOW ENOUGH FOR POSSIBLE EXCRETION

Precaution: ORAL BIOAVAILABILITY LOW; INFANT EXPOSURE MAY BE MINIMAL

Precaution: LOW MOLEC WT. POSSIBLE EXCRETION; NOT RECOM; MAY CAUSE PARADOXICAL EXCITATION

An adult over 60:

Precaution: (SOM)(BEERS) INCREASED RISK FOR GI BLEED/ULCER; USE LOWER DOSES.

Precaution: (SOM)(BEERS) MORE SENSITIVE TO CV & CNS EFX; URINARY RET.,INSOMNIA.

Precaution: (SOM)(BEERS) ANTICHOLINERGIC/HYPOTENSION; NON-SEDATING AGENT PREFER.

Giving Alka-Seltzer Plus Day-Night to a child under 12:

Relative Contraindication: REYE SYNDROME RISK WITH VIRAL ILLNESS, FEVER, FLU SYMPTOMS.

Absolute Contraindication: CNS EXCITATION, CONVULSION RISK IN NEWBORNS. NOT RECOMMENDED AGE <2 YRS.

Absolute Contraindication: RISK OF CNS EXCITATION. DO NOT USE AGE <6 YEARS WITHOUT CLINICIAN CONSULT.

Relative Contraindication: NOT RECOMMENDED AGE < 6 YEARS WITHOUT CLINICIAN CONSULTATION.

Absolute Contraindication: DO NOT USE IN PEDIATRICS <6 YRS OF AGE UNLESS CLINICIAN CONSULTATION.
