How the interaction occurs:
When these two medicines are taken together, your body may not process zidovudine properly.
What might happen:
Your blood levels of zidovudine may increase and cause serious skin rashes or other toxic effects.
What you should do about this interaction:
If you experience any skin rashes, fever, sore throat, increased tiredness, weakness, unusual bleeding or bruising, stomach pains, problems breathing, change in urine color to brown or changes in skin or eye color to yellow, contact your doctor. The dose of your medicines may need to be adjusted.Your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
