An adult over 60:
management or monitoring precaution: Renal-The drug is partially cleared renally. Reduce dose to 6.25mg for severe renal impairment (CrCL<30 mL/min.) Hepatic-Elderly patients are more likely to have decreased hepatic function thus potentially decreasing drug clearance. Cardiovascular-Hypertensive effects may be more pronounced in the elderly and increase the risk for cardiovascular events in those with cardiovascular disease. Avoid use of the drug in any patient with a cerebrovascular syndrome.
Giving almotriptan malate to a child under 12:
