How the interaction occurs:
Your hepatitis medicine needs some gastric acid to be absorbed. Proton pump inhibitors decrease the amount of acid in your stomach.
What might happen:
Your hepatitis medicine may not work as well if proton pump inhibitors decrease the amount of it absorbed into your blood.
What you should do about this interaction:
Make sure your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines together. You may need to change the timing or dose of your acid reducing medicine to avoid an interaction with your hepatitis medicine. If you have any questions about how or when to take your medicine, ask your pharmacist.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
