Not Recommended: TERATOGENIC; INFANT COAGULATION DEFECTS REVERSIBLE WITH ORAL VIT K

Nursing:

Precaution: LIMITED DATA REPORT INFANT IRRITABILITY AFTER MATERNAL ORAL DOSES

Precaution: HYPOTHYROIDISM IN ONE INFANT WITH MATERNAL TOPICAL IODINE USE

Precaution: SEDATION; INFANTILE SPASMS REPORTED AFTER WEANING FROM BREASTMILK.

Precaution: IRRITABILITY, EXCESSIVE CRYING DOCUMENTED IN INFANTS.

An adult over 60:

Precaution: (SOM)(BEERS) RISKS IN ELDERLY:EXCITEMENT/CONFUSION/DEPRESSION/FALLS

Precaution: MORE SENSITIVE TO CV & CNS EFX; URINARY RETENTION,INSOMNIA

Precaution: DECREASED CLEARANCE; CAUTION: CV, RENAL, HEPATIC, PEPTIC ULCER DZ

Giving Dainite-KI to a child under 12:

Relative Contraindication: SAFETY AND EFFECTIVENESS IN PEDIATRICS NOT ESTABLISHED.

Warning: MAY CAUSE HYPERACTIVITY OR PARADOXICAL EXCITEMENT IN CHILDREN

Warning: CLEARANCE MAY BE REDUCED AGE < 1 YEAR. ADMINISTER WITH CAUTION.

Absolute Contraindication: DO NOT USE IN AGE < 6 YEARS WITHOUT CLINICIAN CONSULT.
