How this interaction occurs is not known, but both medicines may affect your muscles.
What might happen:
You may experience an increased risk of severe muscle pain, flu-like symptoms, and sudden decrease in the amount of urine.
What you should do about this interaction:
Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines together. Your doctor may want you to stop taking your cholesterol medicine while you are taking daptomycin. Your doctor may need to check your blood more frequently while you are on daptomycin. Let your doctor know right away if you have any muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, especially in your extremities (arms, hands, legs, and feet), or if your urine turns dark or brown.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it.
