What should I know regarding pregnancy, nursing and administering Librax (with methscopolamine) to children or the elderly?

If you are:

Pregnant:

FDB Contraindicated or Not Recommended: SHOULD BE AVOIDED ESPEC DURING 1ST TRIMESTER;RISK OF CONGENITAL MALFORMAT

Only When Necessary: REPORTS OF INFANT ADVERSE EFFECTS INCLUDE TACHYCARDIA, FEVER, LETHARGY

Nursing:

Absolute Contraindication: MAY CAUSE FEEDING DIFFICULTIES, DROWSINESS, WEIGHT LOSS.

An adult over 60:

Contraindication: (SOM)(BEERS) LONG T1/2:SEDATION/FALLS; MAX.20 MG/DAY.

Precaution: (SOM)(BEERS) ANTICHOLINERGIC: SEDATION, COGNITIVE IMPAIR., GLAUCOMA

Giving Librax (with methscopolamine) to a child under 12:

Relative Contraindication: INFANTS AND CHILDREN ARE SENSITIVE TO ADVERSE EFFECTS.

Relative Contraindication: NOT RECOMMENDED UNDER AGE 6 YEARS.

Absolute Contraindication: MORE SENSITIVE TO ADVERSE EFFECTS. AVOID USE FOR COUGH/COLD.
