FDB Contraindicated or Not Recommended: FDA CATEGORY C;SALICYLATES NOT RECOMMENDED ESPECIALLY IN 3RD TRIMESTER/NEAR TERM

Only When Necessary: INSUFFIECIENT HUMAN & ANIMAL DATA. FDA CATEGORY C IN MULTI-INGREDIENT PRODUCTS

Nursing:

Precaution: HIGH DOSES MAY CAUSE HYPERACTIVITY AND WAKEFULNESS IN INFANT.

Absolute Contraindication: ONE REPORT OF METABOL ACIDOSIS W/ASA;RISK OF REYE'S SYN W/VIRAL ILLNESS/FEVER

No Known Risk: LOW LEVELS EXCRETED WITH LOW RISK FOR ADVERSE EFFECTS IN INFANT

Precaution: INSUFFICIENT DATA AVAIL. MAY POSSIBLY CAUSE SEDATION/ANTIMUSCARINIC EFFECTS.

An adult over 60:

Precaution: MORE SUSCEPTIBLE TO TOXIC EFFECTS; MAY NEED TO REDUCE DOSE

Precaution: (BEERS) ANTICHOLINERGIC/HYPOTENSION; NON-SEDATING AGENTS PREFERRED

Precaution: (SOM)STRICT ADHERENCE TO MAXIMUM DAILY DOSE (3000MG) ADVISED.

Precaution: (BEERS) AVOID IN ELDERLY WITH INSOMNIA DUE TO CNS STIMULATION EFFECT

Warning: USE WEIGHT BASED DOSING IN CHILDREN LESS THAN 12 YRS.

Warning: CAUTION IN SEIZURE DISORD & CV DISEASE/PREM NEONATE WITH RENAL,HEPATIC IMPAIR

Relative Contraindication: DO NOT USE IN VIRAL ILLNESS; POSSIBLE INCREASED RISK OF REYE SYNDROME.

Absolute Contraindication: POSSIBLE CNS EXCITATION, CONVULSIONS IN NEWBORNS.

Warning: ADVERSE CNS EFFECTS USUALLY MORE SEVERE IN CHILDREN.
