How the interaction occurs:
When these two medicines are taken together, rifampin may interfere with the way your body processes your antifungal medicine. Also, your antifungal medicine may interfere with the way your body processes rifampin.
What might happen:
The anti-infective effects of both your antifungal medicine and your rifampin may decrease.
What you should do about this interaction:
If signs of your infection do not improve or worsen, contact your doctor. It may be necessary to adjust the dose of your antifungal medicine.Your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) may already be aware of this drug interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not stop, start, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
