How the interaction occurs:
Your antifungal may slow down how quickly your liver processes artemether and lumefantrine.
What might happen:
The amount of artemether and lumefantrine in your blood may increase and cause an increase in side effects such as headache, dizziness, difficulty sleeping, rapid heart beat, abdominal pain, and muscle aches.
What you should do about this interaction:
Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines together. Your doctor may want to change your antifungal. Let your healthcare professional know if the side effects of your medicine increase.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
