How the interaction occurs:

Etravirine and your protease inhibitor may affect how quickly your liver processes each other.

What might happen:

The amount of medicine in your blood may change. It may cause more side effects than normal or it may not work as well against your HIV-infection.

What you should do about this interaction:

Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know right away that you are taking these medicines together. Your doctor may want to check the amount of medicine in your blood and how well your medicine is working. Let your doctor know if any side-effects from your medicine increase.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it.
