Eraxis(Water Diluent) IV Uses
This medication is used to treat certain fungal infections caused by the Candida fungus (e.g., candidemia, esophageal candidiasis). It works by stopping the growth of fungus.How to use Eraxis(Water Diluent) IV
This medication is given by slow injection into a vein as directed by your doctor, usually once a day. The rate of infusion should not be greater than 1.1 milligrams per minute. Dosage and length of treatment is based on your medical condition and response to therapy.
If you are giving this medication to yourself at home, learn all preparation and usage instructions from your health care professional. Before using, check this product visually for particles or discoloration. If either is present, do not use the liquid. Learn how to store and discard medical supplies safely.
It is important to continue this medication for the full course of treatment, even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may result in a return of the infection.
Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens.
Eraxis(Water Diluent) IV Side Effects
Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.
Tell your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects, including: swelling/pain at injection site, shortness of breath, dark urine, severe stomach/abdominal pain, yellowing eyes/skin, persistent nausea/vomiting, muscle weakness/spasm, vision changes, pain/redness/swelling of arms or legs, new signs of infection (e.g., fever, persistent sore throat), easy bruising/bleeding, fast/slow/irregular heartbeat, seizures, increased urination/thirst, mental/mood changes.
A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

Eraxis(Water Diluent) IV Precautions
Before using anidulafungin, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to other echinocandins (e.g., caspofungin); or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: liver disease.
During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
It is not known if this medication passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

For the best possible benefit, it is important to receive each scheduled dose of this medication as directed. If you miss a dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately to establish a new dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.STORAGE:

Do not flush medications down the toilet or pour them into a drain unless instructed to do so. Properly discard this product when it is expired or no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist or local waste disposal company.
