Atazanavir/Ritonavir

How the interaction occurs:
Ritonavir may slow down how quickly your liver processes atazanavir.
What might happen:
The amount of atazanavir in your blood may increase and cause more side effects than normal.
What you should do about this interaction:
Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines together. Your doctor may need to adjust the dose of your atazanavir while you are taking ritonavir. Let your doctor know if you experience an unusual increase in thirst or urination, skin rash, mood changes, weight gain, tingling or numbness, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or unusual bleeding or bruising.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
