Repaglinide/Rifampin

How the interaction occurs:

Rifampin may increase how quickly your liver processes repaglinide.

What might happen:

The amount of repaglinide in your blood may decrease. It may not work as well on your diabetes and your blood sugar may increase.

What you should do about this interaction:

Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines together. Your doctor may want you to check your blood sugar more often while you are taking these medicines together. Your doctor may change the dose of your repaglinide when you start and/or stop taking rifampin.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.Reference:1.Niemi M, Backman JT, Neuvonen M, Neuvonen PJ, Kivisto KT.
