How the interaction occurs:
Hydrochlorothiazide may decrease your kidney's ability to remove dofetilide from your body and may also increase the amount of potassium in your body.
What might happen:
The excess dofetilide and potassium in your body may cause life-threatening effects on your heart.
What you should do about this interaction:
Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines together right away. Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it.
