Buspirone/Nefazodone

How the interaction occurs:
Nefazodone may slow down how quickly your body processes your buspirone. If you are taking a higher dose of buspirone, buspirone may slow down how quickly your liver processes nefazodone.
What might happen:
The amount of nefazodone and buspirone in your blood may increase. The amount of buspirone in your blood will probably increase more than the amount of nefazodone in your blood. You may notice more side effects from your buspirone, such as lightheadedness, dizziness, weakness, or sleepiness.
What you should do about this interaction:
Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines together. If you are experiencing side effects from your medicines, your doctor may want to change the dose of your medicine. If your doctor adds buspirone to your nefazodone, your doctor may start your buspirone at a lower dosage.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
