Troglitazone/Cholestyramine

How the interaction occurs:

The cause of the interaction is unknown. Cholestyramine may prevent troglitazone from being absorbed.

What might happen:

The effects of your troglitazone may decrease and cause higher blood sugar levels.

What you should do about this interaction:

If your doctor prescribes these two medicines together, take your cholestyramine as far apart from your troglitazone as possible.Your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it.
