How the interaction occurs:
Ponatinib needs some gastric acid to be absorbed. Proton pump inhibitors, H2 antagonists and antacids decrease the amount of acid in your stomach.
What might happen:
Your ponatinib may not work as well if proton pump inhibitors, H2 antagonists or antacids decrease the amount of ponatinib absorbed into your blood.
What you should do about this interaction:
Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines together. If you have any questions about how or when to take your medicine, ask your pharmacist.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it.
