How the interaction occurs:
Your antidepressant may slow down how quickly your liver processes tetrabenazine.
What might happen:
The amount of tetrabenazine in your blood may increase and you may experience more side effects than normal.
What you should do about this interaction:
Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines together. Let your doctor know right away if you experience depression, suicidal thoughts, fever, stiff muscles, problems thinking, fast/uneven heartbeat, increased sweating, shaking, restlessness, trouble swallowing, dizziness, or uncontrollable facial movements. Your doctor may want to change the dose of your medicine.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it.
