Brinzolamide/Carbonic Anhydrase Inhibitors

How the interaction occurs:

Carbonic anhydrase inhibitors can increase the effects of brinzolamide.

What might happen:

Taking brinzolamide with carbonic anhydrase inhibitors can cause you to have abnormal levels of potassium, sodium, and other chemicals.

What you should do about this interaction:

Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines together. Your doctor may want to change or discontinue one of your medicines. Your doctor may want to have lab test done to check for side effects of taking these two medicines together.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it.
