Ezetimibe/Fibrates

How the interaction occurs:
Both ezetimibe and fibrates can increase the amount of cholesterol that your gallbladder secretes. It is not know how fibrates increase the amount of ezetimibe in your body.
What might happen:
You may be at an increased risk of developing gallstones while using these medicines. The amount of ezetimibe in your blood may increase and cause more side effects.
What you should do about this interaction:
Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines together. Let your doctor know if you have any stomach pain, severe dizziness, headaches, diarrhea, or back pain.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it.
