Eplerenone/Strong CYP3A4 Inhibitors

How the interaction occurs:
Some medicines may slow down how quickly your liver processes eplerenone.
What might happen:
The amount of eplerenone in your blood may increase. This may cause your blood pressure to become too low or your potassium levels to become too high. Symptoms of low blood pressure include fainting or dizziness. Symptoms of a high potassium level include breathing difficulties, chest pain, slow or irregular heartbeat, confusion, or muscle weakness.
What you should do about this interaction:
Contact your healthcare professional (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) as soon as possible about taking these medicines together. Your doctor may want to change your medicine.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
