I havent started it yet but I will as soon as my hubby brings it home form the store,Im just worried about side effects.

Been on this med for 5 mo so far...experienced extreme fatigue in the beginning which subsided, but now experiencing depression and hair thinning...going off med immediately and plan on trying alternative methods to lower bp.

I am also taking Diovan and Sular. My BP was still running high until I started taking 25mg Atenolol. It now runs on the low side (109/60) I dropped from 40mg.Sular to 30mg.Sular. This helped balance things. I have however recently developed horseness (like my voice is changing), at times. Droopy eyelids, occasional numbness in fingers and toes. My thinking has been confusing. I take 1/2 morning 1/4 evening 100 MGSo far i have not conrtrolled my peaks I take norvasc in addition and when I peak 190/103 169/90 high BP wakes me up at night I get nervous and flushed and I am off balancelI was onMetoprolol100 MG 2 times a day but my balance was off

I have taken Atenolol for about 10 years with great results. Recently though, I have had to add Diovan to my daily medication as the Atenolol didn't seem to be "enough" to keep my BP at a safe level, and I was already taking the maximum dosage of 100mg.
