I have been using trazadone for aprox. eight years. This medication was used to treat my insomnia, I was never told about possible side effects. I suffer from heart disease including three cardiac infarctions three angiograms and a double bypass. I was never told about this. Now that i am getting off this medicine I am going through withdrawals, oh boy!!!!

my docs have put me on this for deppression also..i used to have racing thoughts when i tried to fall asleep... but sence ive been on it it has really help. but if your going to go up a dose be very careful.. i had gotten a new doc who uped the dose and i just got really weak.. and fell asleep in the hall way..(so if ur docs up your dose just make sure your sitting down or laying down sence it MIG ... Long term insomnia. At first it still took me a very long time to fall asleep, but I was able to STAY ASLEEP through the night. Initially, I took Xanax and Trazodone together, but after 2 weeks of sleeping through the night, I take only Trazodone. 2 50mg pills & I feel drowsy within 20 min.
