been on this drug for 6 months and have seen very little results. took 25 miligrams am now trying 50 twice a day. i would like to switch to another medication. should i insist. dr.says take for 2months before i can see results. pressure running about 150 to 170 over 90. what is your opinion?

I have high blood pressure and was also having chest pains.The doc put me on this med to help with both,which it has.It has also helped with my migranes.I have them less often and they are alot less severe.It has also helped a little with my nervousness.On the down side,I did have some numbness in my hands and feet for the first few months and I have gained 30 pounds over the past year.
