I was given Cipro for a potential urinary infection, for 14 days. after 11 days my achilles tendon became swollen. My doctor concurred that it was a side reaction to Cipro. It's 35 days and it still has affected my walking and balance.Does any one know when this side affect will go away?

I'm on the 4th day of a 5-day course of 250 mg. twice per day. UTI pain was gone the first day. I cannot believe the side effects: dizziness on the first day, along with headache, nausea, unbelievable fatigue, horrible taste in my mouth, and I don't feel like myself: I cannot think clearly. I cannot wait to feel healthy again. I feel like I'm taking poison each time I take this pill. ... Show Full Comment

I have taken Cipro for UTI's many times now. It seems until an operation I might need to intermittently take it whenever infections occur. No trouble sleeping, no side effects. I am prescribed 500mg twice daily for a month at a time. I would rather NOT take it but it does work. Used Bactrim before, no problem taking, but not effective. Took Cipro many years ago and had some sight problem ... Show Full Comment

These patient reviews have been extremely helpful. I'd taken Cipro for UTI before and never experienced any adverse symptoms. Just finished a three-day 500mg dosage and have been up all night with nausea and weakness.

I was prescribed this drug because I'd had a severe allergic reaction to Bactrim. The prescription for this drug was for three days, two times a day, but I was told that if I still had symptoms by the fourth day I was to take it that day. By the fifth day I had no symptoms, so it did clear the infection. About two weeks have passed since I stopped taking it, and I've developed a red, it ... Show Full Comment
